Lake Wendouree Reserve is highly recommended for families with kids, offering a great playground with varied equipment and areas for all ages. The park is spacious, well-maintained, and includes free BBQ facilities, toilets, plenty of shaded picnic tables, and parking spots. The location is right beside a lake with many swans swimming around and a botanical garden nearby. Visitors can enjoy walking, jogging, or meditating in the area. There are cafes, ice cream kiosks, and tram rides available.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
